Wonder how much this will wind up fetching?

Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

Possibly nothing. Someone's probably gonna have it shut down. Isn't this illegal or something?
There are three things I've learned never to discuss with people: Religion, politics, and the proper wrapping of microphone cables.

Probably something. Usually homemade video tapes go for at least 20+ bucks, illegal or not.

And if it was an official tape, then who knows?

Edit: As of now, there is one bid for the $5 it has started at.

To be fair, you know better, and I know better.  But we also both know that you can sell anything on eBay.  So, regrettibly, not only is he not kidding you, he may well be right.

Why do you care? We brought this to your attention before, and you told us that the staff is more concerned about props; as opposed to bootleg tapes.  On a side note; its great that he stole all those pictures from Brad's site.

At last check, that tape now has a bid of $6.50.  I suspect it'll be at $25 by the end of the week.

Yes, because we all know how accurate you've forecasted things in the past.

I've emailed eBay about illegal tapes like this in the past, and they could honestly care less...I never get responses. I've even called them, and they don't care. *shrug*

Nor should they. As Matt has pointed out in the past, all of you tape traders (which in and of itself is already gray-area, legally) whining about someone putting a tape up on Ebay is awfully reminicent  of the old story about the pot and the kettle...

It has been determined some time ago that old game shows have no value, either in a broadcast venue or in the home video market, so what possible damage is done when someone puts something up like this?  There are, like, two people around the world who would be interested in paying for this stuff.   You'd see legitimate releases if a substantial number of bucks could be made.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

Several times in the past I've seen eBay items taken down because people emailed about illegal stuff...the one that comes to mind that's relevant to this forum is some Gong Show DVDs from a couple of years back. So they do take notice of this stuff sometimes. But it seems to me that people hocking TPiR tapes is small fish compared even to the Live Aid DVD pirates.

So if this is illegal, maybe we should just give this guy some more publicity and access to more potential bidders by making posts like this one.

Here's an interesting link: http://www.unc.edu/~unclng/public-d.htm

All TPIR episodes from 1972 forward have a copyright notice so they are not in the public domain.

Would there be a problem if the guy didn't disclose the contents of the tape on ebay, but simply said "Maxell T-160 VHS Tape, Used."
